Piers Morgan mocks Meghan Markle for claiming she is 'most trolled person in the world'

Piers Morgan has mocked Meghan Markle for claiming she was the "most trolled person in the world" in 2019.

 

Meghan made this statement when she and Prince Harry sat down with 3 high school students for their "Teenage Therapy" podcast. The podcast was to mark Saturday's World Mental Health Day (read here).

 

As they addressed online bullying, Meghan Markle said: "I'm told that in 2019, I was the most trolled person in the entire world - male or female. Now, 8 months of that, I wasn't even visible. I was on maternity leave with a baby, but what was able to be manufactured and churned out, it was almost unsurvivable.

 

"That's so big, you can't even think of what that feels like. Because I don't care if you're 15 or you're 25, if people are saying things about you that aren't true, what that does to your mental and emotional health is so damaging."

 

Following Meghan's statement, Piers, who often openly shares his dislike for the former actress, blasted the Duchess of Sussex on Monday during the news show he hosts., Good Morning Britain.

 

Piers, 55, said that Meghan, 39, had got the data incorrect as he was aware that Adele was the most trolled celebrity.

 

He then went off on a tangent as he shared how hitmaker Adele was the subject of online abuse due to losing weight.

 

Piers fumed: "Adele was first as she lost weight and all the people who loved her for being fat trolled her!

 

"If you lose weight and get healthy and get trolled."

 

He then returned to discussing the most trolled famous faces, as he noted: "Gemma Collins was second and Meghan third."

 

Piers added: "She got more trolling than Trump and me."

 

The host then said: "I get the most trolls from Meghan Markle fans."

 

He added: "The tone deafness is remarkable".

 

He then goes on to mock Meghan by asking the camera: "Are you OK in your Santa Barbara mansion?"

 

Piers also plugged his new book Wake Up and told viewers that there is a lot about Meghan inside his new work.
